Instagram has finally released an update we have all been waiting for! With the release of Instagram version 7.15 for iOS and Android, users will now have the ability to switch between accounts. For the average user this means nothing, and why should it. One person one account. However for those who manage multiple Instagram accounts, the pain staking task of logging out and logging back in between accounts is finally gone.
The process is pretty simple. You add new accounts from the settings menu, and once that’s done, just tap your username at the top of your profile to move between them. Also, your profile photo will be prominently displayed through out so you do not lose track of which account your are posting to. This feature has been tested since November. Instagram began first with Android and eventually began tests on iOS. This feature is being rolled out to everyone.
Personally, this is a great feature. I do not run a separate account for Urban Geek CNY and personal because I am Urban Geek CNY and Urban Geek CNY is me so there is no need. However if I had children that may be a different story. I also wonder how many people have not separated their brand from their personal account because of this feature not existing until now and will now consider doing so? I see tremendous use for this however as I know many people who have brand accounts and personal accounts. This should make their lives significantly easier.
Do you handle multiple Instagram accounts? Are you looking forward to this change? Would you consider splitting personal and brand now that this feature exists?
